Sosúa little affected by Hurricane Emily

Hurricane Emily passed the south coast of the republic and then afflicted poor Haiti. The southern part of the Dominican Republic has suffered much from the abundant water and rain squalls.

In Santo Domingo whole neighborhoods were flooded. On the north coast and therefore Sosúa, could hardly notice that a hurricane passed by. It resulted in some heavy rain showers and slightly higher waves at the beach. Especially at night it has rained pretty hard. But the day was sunny with a break now and then by a small rain shower. But yes, the hurricane season is here and that goes on through November. Fortunately, almost all hurricanes pass along the south coast on the other side of the island. The north coast is usually, as now, only plagued with some heavy rain.
