2nd Provincial Festival in Puerto Plata successful
For the second consecutive year the 'Provincial Festival' of Puerto Plata was held at the Town Hall Square (Plaza la Independencia). The festivities for the promotion of the province took place from Friday November 15 to Sunday 17 November. There were exhibitions, dance, painting, drawing and singing demonstrations. Besides, there were performances by famous folk dance and music groups. Both day and evening there was a lot of entertainment.

There were also stalls set up for the different municipalities of the province to promote their village or town. Sosúa was also present with a booth where various artists exhibited their art. Tim Hall, the Ambassador of Canada, attended the festival also. He said in an interview for the local TV that Canada and Puerto Plata have had a good relationship for many years. Puerto Plata is a beautiful place where many expats live and other Canadians come to hibernate and enjoy the province.
