The entire board of the Rotary Club of Sosúa has recently launched the campaign 'Wash hands'.
They have started to visit the various schools in and around Sosúa to teach the students the value of properly washing hands with soap.
Hands are a rich breeding ground for many disease-causing bacteria.
Especially diarrhea and pneumonia, diseases which cause the death of children in the Dominican Republic every year, are caused by bacteria on the hands and pass it on to each other.
The Dominican habit to shake hands, contributes a lot to the spread of these diseases.
After each toileting, clean your hands with soap and water and dry your hands on a sheet of paper.

Not the available towel which is moist and has been used by tens of predecessors.
