Since May 1, International Workers' Day, fell on Friday this year, the Dominican people could enjoy a long weekend.
The beach of Sosúa was crowded with sun, water and fried fish-loving enthusiasts this extended weekend.
There were many busses parked beside the highway to Sosúa.
Many people from Santiago, La Vega and even from Santo Domingo come in groups to Sosúa with a bus.
There were also many tourists from the US, especially from New York, at the beach this year.
The fried meat and fish sellers were satisfied with the sales.
It was like Semana Santa again.

Due to the attention of the Civil Guard (Defenca Civil) and tourist police everything went smoothly, without incident.
