Illegal Haitians leave Sosúa en masse

Currently, the officers of the Air Force and National Police check residents and visitors of Sosúa strictly on their identity papers. The government recently started the control and particularly on Haitians staying in the cuntry. They are checked for the possession of a valid residence permit. Illegally residing Haitinas in the Dominican Republic will be deported. It has already caused a storm of protest from around the world. Most recently, the response from Bill de Blasio, the mayor of New York. He accused the government of the Dominican Republic of racism and called for an economic boycott.
