From August 9 the traffic lights at the crossroads La Loma and the main street at Ocean Dream have been put into service.
According to the AMET (traffic police) officer Almonte in the past many accidents with fatalities have occurred at the crossroads.

At the intersection there will also be an AMET officer present constantly who will ensure that no one drives through the red light.
In the first week, no fines will be handed out yet so the traffic user can get used to this new situation.
Also, there should only be parked on the beach side of the thoroughfare.
This is to prevent traffic chaos.
Now after almost a week there still are some complaints from residents about the traffic lights.
Especially motoconchos appear to ignore the red traffic light.
They then race straight through the red light thus bringing other road users in danger.
The AMET has already announced that they will act tougher against these miscreants.
