After a call for help by the board of the neighborhood association of Holguin, a neighborhood in front of the airbase, mayor Ilana Neuma went to a meeting there.
The meeting took place on Friday afternoon and the officers of the airbase, the spokesman of the waste business, the board of the neighborhood association and a lot of people of Holguin were present.
They had invited the mayor to show her that it's not going too well with the neighborhood.
Because many residents in search of an income, take a lot of debris to the village, to extract the useful stuff to sell.
But what is useless, is dumped again in the neighborhood.

For this reason the neighborhood becomes very polluted with all its consequences.
The neighborhood residents also took the opportunity, now the mayor was present, to get off their chest, the endless blackouts and the poor state of the roads.
The Colonel of the Air Force base suggested to clean up the neighborhood with the help of some of the soldiers of the air base.
Ilana urged waste collectors to collect and take to the neighborhood, only usable waste, which they can sell.
Regarding the condition of the streets and the power supply, Ilana looks for a solution.
