Rain showers disrupt nightlife
Saturday and Sunday night the north coast, Sosúa included, was hit again with tremendous downpours that lasted for hours. The Bella Vista neighborhood of Sosúa suffered the most from severe flooding. The water in the streets stood knee high and the water flooded many homes. Most residents had brought their household in safety to a dry place. It will still take a few days before everything is dried up and the furniture can be returned home.

Mayor Ilana Neumann has promised to support the aggrieved families. Again, El Batey, the tourist center of Sosúa, hardly suffered any flooding. But the bars and restaurants suffered from the rain. Many tourists stayed in their hotel and apparently did not want to seek distraction in the many bars and restaurants in the main street Pedro Clisante because of the rains.
