Mayor Ilana Neumann had an urgent meeting with representatives of EDENORTE.
EDENORTE provides the energy supply for the north coast of the Dominican Republic, so also for Sosúa.
The mayor was dissatisfied with the services provided.

The municipality pays 750 pesos monthly for each lamp for street lighting in Sosúa.
But many lights don't shine at night.
But the municipality does have to pay its monthly fee at EDNORTE for these non-functioning streetlights.
According to the mayor, a well-lit street is of great importance for the safety of residents and tourists in Sosúa.
She now demands from EDENORTE to have all the non-functioning lighting repaired and to expand the number of street light as soon as possible.
The still obscure dark streets may no longer remain unlit.
