New drainage system
The construction of the new drainage system in the main street Pedro Clisante in Sosúa is almost finished.
In front of the Bermuda Bar, the Rumba Bar and Bar Central four fairly wide tubes have been driven into ground to groundwater level.
The tubes are now covered with a concrete structure with a lid and a filter system.
The idea is that during heavy rains the street will not be flooded anymore for hours or days, but the abundant rainwater is drained quickly into the four wells.
The workmen also told us that the fire-fighters also benefit from the wells.
If there is a fire somewhere then they can fill their truck with extinguishing water at these wells.
Now it often happens that the fire truck arrives at the fire without extinguishing water.
