Friday February 17 a meeting was held in the park of the flags at which attended many pupils from several schools in Sosúa.
Furthermore, representatives of the Air Force, national, tourist and traffic police were present.
Also the full council with Mayor Ilana Neumann was there.
The meeting was organized to promote togetherness, independence and out of respect for the national flag.
The Air Force band opened the meeting with the playing of the national anthem.
Next the students sang some songs and recited poems.
In between the songs and poems, the mayor, directors of schools and commanders of the air force and police held a speech.

The meeting ended with the Air Force band playing some patriotic music, well-known to every Dominican.
