On Wednesday March 8 there was a public hearing in the town hall attended by all councilors and the mayor.
In this meeting business people from Sosúa presented a plan for the establishment of an Aqua Park (Parque Acuático Tinglar Splash) on the beach of Sosúa.

Luis Oscar Gómez gave an explanation about the project that was developed on behalf of the Ministry of Environment José Uriel Sayas.
The plan involves a huge theme park with large inflatable objects on the beach.
According to Luis Oscar Gómez this would yield 130 people a job and certainly attract 350,000 additional visitors to Sosúa.
The plan has already been submitted to the council in November 2016.
The plan still needs to be tested for environmental and other legal requirements.
At the meeting there was immediately acclaim and enthusiasm for this plan among those present.
