For the past few days, officials of the DNCD (Dirección Nacional de Control de Drogas) held some fierce actions fighting drug trafficking in Puerto Plata and Sosúa.

The officials, accompanied by armed soldiers, made several arrests in the Charamicos (La Piedra) neighborhood.
With these arrests the drug control agency DNCD wants to protect tourism for the crime associated practices in the sale and use of drugs like cocaine, crack and marijuana.
The DNCD works hard to prevent tourists from being harassed by criminal drug dealers.
