Semana Santa bazaar in the park with flowers
Saturday and Sunday, 8 and 9 April there was again a bazaar in the park of the flowers in Sosúa. The park of the flowers (parque las flores) is located next to the Sosúa Bay Casino. There were covered stalls selling all kinds of merchandise like trinkets, clothing, food and drink. On the raised square in the park there were performances by various groups from Casa de Arte. Among other performances the visitors to the bazaar could enjoy the Sosúa choir and string orchestra. Also a Merengue tipico band did a performance.

This time the number of stalls was extensive and the jewelry appeared to be of more quality than previously years. The weather was beautiful so the bazaar attracted many visitors. Unfortunately, only a few tourists. Maybe the advertising campaign for this bazaar should be directed at tourists a bit more in the future. This sympathetic initiative certainly deserves more attention and appreciation. There will be more bazaar weekends in the near future and hopefully that it may rejoice more attention from tourists.
