The two hurricanes Irma and Maria unfortunately also left their mark on the beach.
From numerous casetas (shops and bars), the corrugated iron roofs were torn off.
Also a lot of sand disappeared into the ocean.
The beach has become much narrower.
In some places the beach is no longer accessible from the walkway and the stairs.
So much sand has been washed away that it is almost 5 feet from the last step of the stairs to the beach.

Many trees have lost their leaves by the strong winds too.
Although now fortunately some new green leaves are already visible.
But the bathers do not refrain from enjoying the beach and the clear blue water.
Especially on weekends it is very busy again on the beach of Sosúa.
Most of the damage is now more or less restored and visitors can again enjoy the fried fish and ice cold Presidente beers.
