Traditionally, yesterday, on Palm Sunday, Catholics in Sosúa celebrated the joyful entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem.
Hundreds of parishioners from the parish of St. Anthony of Padua held a procession along the beach of Sosúa this Sunday, armed with palm branches.
The tour ended in the church in Charamicos where the entire passion story of Jesus was read out by the pastor.
This is the start of Semana Santa, the holy week before Easter.

It will be quiet in Sosúa for a few more days, but from Thursday it will become increasingly busy with visitors from all over the country to celebrate the upcoming Easter weekend.
The beach will be overcrowded as usual with visitors wanting to eat and drink.
Drinking in particular can sometimes get out of hand.
But with the help of the Civil Guard, everything will run smoothly.
