Sosúa is preparing to receive the many visitors during Semana Santa.
The authorities presented the operational plan for this week.
The City Council led by Mayor Wilfredo Olivences and the PMR (Comité de Prevención Mitigación y Respuesta, Committee for Prevention, Mitigation and Response), together with other institutions, formally announced the 'Operation Holy Week 2024' plan.
The emergency corps will have several modules spread across all the beaches and rivers of the municipality of Sosúa, each with an estimated 10 to 12 people, including: doctors, paramedics, civil guards, lifeguards, journalists, military security guards and supervisors.

The event took place in the Chapter House of the Town Hall and was attended by representatives of the various institutions that will be involved in this operation, where Mayor Wilfredo Olivences presented hundreds of first aid kits and educational materials to the visitors.
Mayor Wilfredo Olivences asks the population to take all appropriate safety and protection measures for these days so that everyone can enjoy Semana Santa.
For safety reasons, the government has decided that trucks are not allowed to drive throughout the country from 6 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2024, until 5 a.m. on Monday, April 1.
