Visiting the dentist in Sosúa

It was a delicious ham and cheese sandwich, until 'boing', my teeth hit a stone! Probably in the Sosúa ham, because the cheese was 'tipico Edam' - there can't be anything hard in there, because it's (almost) Dutch quality. But that stone almost destroyed two teeth. It was not too painful, but very sensitive when I ate or drank anything hot or cold. So a visit to the dentist was in order.
Now there are several dentists in Sosúa, so there was plenty of choice. But I didn't want to fall into the hands of some butcher, so I asked around beforehand. Harald and Henk-Jaap from Hotel Voramar advised me to go to Wendy Juma. Theresa, from Trade Winds, also swears by Wendy. I also called a friend in the Netherlands to hear what happened when he needed a tooth drilled in Sosúa. He was apparently also treated by Wendy, and he was very pleased with her dentistry skills.

He'd since had the complete operation checked in the Netherlands by his usual dentist, and he too was very enthusiastic about Wendy's handiwork. So, having gained this information, I found the courage to make an appointment with Dra. Wendy Juma (an Estomatóloge graduate).

Perfect

Wendy's practice is located in the plaza Gell Brown, on the 2nd floor no. 2 (diagonally opposite the Productos Sosúa supermarket).
My appointment was on Thursday morning, at 9am. Which was good, because that was the very next day. I arrived at my new dentist's office exactly on time. The assistant had already arrived, and continued to mop the floor around me. The dentist was nowhere to be found. After 15 minutes I asked whether the dentist had perhaps suffered a sudden bout of flu? Suddenly the assistant grabbed the phone and reported that there was a patient waiting. Was it a tooth or a molar that was giving me trouble? Two molars, yes!
The dentist finally arrived around 9.45, and I was shown into the treatment room. My dental treatment can be described in just one word: perfect!

Competently

Wendy was very friendly and considerate, and I felt confident that she knew what she was doing. The equipment that Wendy uses seems very modern and is similar to that used by my own dentist in Europe. But the anaesthetic injection was a bit painful (I'm a bit of a coward, I'll admit). But after this then the treatment was completed quickly and competently.
I left the dentist's office around one hour later, and 2600 pesos poorer (though much happier). It took a while to get back to normal, because half my face was still anaesthetised, and didn't seem to belong to the rest of my face.
But where else can you get such good dental treatment for around 50 euro, and be treated by such a charming, friendly dentist (sorry Estomatóloge) as Dra. Wendy Juma?
