Gerard and Harrie started work early at their popular beach bar/restaurant Zeezicht, to make everything ready for the day's trade.
Then what did they hear?
A loud bang and a lot of noise that came from the stock area of Siempre Sol, where the well-known and popular Herman has his bar.
The cattle roaming around
Other early birds on the beach went immediately to Herman's beach pavilion, and what did they see?
A huge white bull standing behind the bars of the locked bar.
The restaurant is at the foot of a small hill, and you often see cattle roaming around at the top of this hill.
They often stand just above the area where the stock is kept, because the grass there is extra green and juicy.
On this particular morning the white bull had missed his footing and fallen right through Herman's roof.
Luckily the bull was not hurt.
When Herman arrived a little later he was surprised to see so many extra clients gathered around his business.
But it was the sight of the fallen bull that had caught people's attention.
The cost of the repairs amounted to 5000 pesos, and now Herman hopes that the owner will pay for these damages.
But the owner of the bull says he knows nothing about this and cannot be held responsible for the damage caused to Herman's roof.
The bull has disappeared, but it is remarkable that Herman has added an extra dish to this month's menu ('carne de res', or beef special), at only half the normal price!
